  Bexhill-on-Sea

Bexhill is a superb place for visitors of all ages and is ideally situated in the heart of 1066 Country. It is renowned for its peace and tranquillity, and has an excellent beach with fabulous views of Beachy Head in the west and Hastings in the east.

At low tide the long stretches of sand and sea shore can be enjoyed by all: a walke'rs paradise, a child’s playground, or just a view to be savoured from the promenade. Visit the Bexhill Guide for more details.

the DeLaWarr Pavillion

  The De La Warr Pavilion

The famous De la Warr Pavilion, theatre and arts centre, sits proudly on the Bexhill seafront offering panoramic sea views from a timeless age. This unique art deco building provides excellent food and hosts numerous shows and exhibitions.

In 2005, it was reopened to the public after an £8 million restoration and refurbishment project. It now claims to be the principal centre for contemporary art and architecture on the south coast.

The Seven Sisters - where the South Downs meets the sea

  The South Downs

The South Downs are only 10 miles from Bexhill and are a paradise for walkers, cyclists and anyone who just wants to escape to the open countryside. There are rolling hills, dramatic cliffs, river valleys, thick forests and charming villages.

Visit Drusillas Park or the Long Man of Wilmington, then go canoeing or horse riding, before stopping for tea and home-made cakes.
